his video is a montage of people and events which monks from Atma Jyoti Ashram witnessed during their trip to southern and western India in 2005.
First was a visit to Omshantidhama, a Vedic school based on the ancient gurukula system of education. The students learn both ancient and modern studies in a unique natural setting. The gurukula is located near the banks of the Kaveri River in a remote valley in the state of Karnataka. The video footage shows the morning havan (vedic fire sacrifice) done by the young students.
Second is rare footage of the spiritual figure known as “Ajja” in Puttur, southern Karnataka, on the border of Kerala.
Third is the evening Nagar kirtan of Ram Nam at Anandashram, made famous by Papa Ramdas, near Kanhangad, Kerala. The kirtan is lead by a young boy from France named Ramananda.
Lastly are the devotional bhajans and dancing by village devotees at the Samadhi Shrine of Jnaneshwar in Alandi, Maharashtra. |
