Buddhism

Two thousand five hundred years ago in Northern India a man was born whose influence would extend throughout the East and eventually spread throughout the world. Seeking enlightenment, he went from teacher to teacher. Finally he sat beneath a tree near the sacred city of Gaya, vowing to remain there until he attained the Goal. He did so attain and, while walking away from the place of his triumph, was asked: “Who are you?” His reply was simple: “I am awake.” Hence he is known as the Awakened One, the Buddha. And his recorded words point all who seek to The Way.

The Yogis of Samsara by Min Zhen Shakya

In the online book The Seventh World of Chan Buddhism by Min Zhen Shakya are found some incredibly insightful sections on the ways of samsaric (deluded and bound) human beings, including the fifth chapter called “Six Worlds of Samsara.” In it is found an interesting delineation of various types of meditators according to their evolutionary level. Anyone sincerely desiring to establish a yoga center or ashram for the benefit of humanity needs this information for the safeguarding of themselves, the sincere seekers, and—frankly—their valuable time.
