Ramakrishna Mission in India

In recent trips to India, members of Atma Jyoti Ashram have had the oportunity of visiting over 14 Ramakrishna Mission Ashrams, Temples, and Charitable Institutions throughout India. Below is a pictorial tour of a few of these locations, all well worth visiting. More photos of these Ashrams may be seen on our India Photos page.

The Temple to Sri Ramakrishna at Belur Math, designed by Swami Vijnanananda, one of the direct monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, as seen on Swami Vivekananada's Birthday.	The shrine at Holy Mother Sarada Devi's samadhi temple at Belur Math. The shrine is a magnet for devotees of the Mother, especially on festival days.	The Cossipore Garden House where Sri Ramakrishna spent the last days of his fatal illness, where he continued to inspire his disciples with the highest ideals of spiritual life.

Sadhus and residents of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Omkareshwar, which is a haven to monks of the mission who wish to spend some time in quiet solitude and more intense sadhana. The ashram sits among a number of other ashrams on the Narmada River.	The Temple at the Ramakrishna Mission in Mumbai, on the occasion of Sri Ramakrishna's birthday. The Ashram supports a large hospital where patients can obtain charitable services.
